Essence Cosmetics- #Mascarareview

Hello Beautiful Ladies!!!!

Alright so I am here updating my blog after a very long time... My apologies!!!

So without further ado.. lets begin our review for today! yaay!!!

Brand: Essence Cosmetics
Product: "get BIG! lashes volume boost waterproof mascara"

So I first came across this brand at a store where I usually buy cosmetics for my bridal makeups. I have to accept that I was a little hesitant about the "volume boost" claim it offered as I was then using my favorite mascara by Estee Lauder. So I bought it anyways, thinking lets give it a try.. there is no harm, right?!
I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised with the volume it gave to my lashes!!!

The claim of "get BIG!" was so true and that it was probably by far the best drug store mascara I have used till date! (challenging the other brands to live up to this !!! ) and I have been recommending it to all the women around me!

Like I have always believed that no amount of mascara is ever enough and with this OMG!! Just 2-3 coats and you have your lashes looking truly beautiful and it works best for the fanned out lashes. #sorted

The wand is thick and it easy to apply. Your lashes can easily pass off as falsies with this mascara. win-win

Right! Now the disappointing part of it.
So I went back to the store after about 2 months, and was informed that the brand has stopped selling it in stores! boo hoo :(

Thank God for online shopping websites... immediately googled it and BAMM!!
Amazon, Flipkart and Ebay were selling the Essence Cosmetics mascara. #whatarelief

However, I am not sure how they are working out the pricing, it is sky rocketing which was super annoying.
I remember buying the mascara for INR 299, they selling it for as high as INR 1900/- (approx) !!!!!!!!!!!!!   Can you believe that!!!!

(psstt... maybe they got to know that these mascaras are totally amazing!!!)

Also, the brand has various versions of volume mascaras, which I couldn't try :(
I am leaving below the link from their website as that has the complete range!

 PROS:
  • Quality is amazing
  • 2-3 coats are enough to last you through out the day
  • waterproof
  • the wand is thick and is easy to use
  • love the bright blue packaging

CONS:
  • not available at stores (any more)
  • highly priced online

My Favourite "Naked Palette" by Urban Decay

Hi beautiful ladies.....

So i got my hand on the most talked about Naked (eyeshadow) Palette by Urban Decay... so, whats the hype about this palette? well it was and probably is one of the highest selling palette in the US that they came out with the second and now the third versions of the same!  In fact the Naked 3 was sold out even before it was available at stores!!!!!!!

Anyways, today I would be reviewing Naked 1 and Naked 2 palettes for you! before you get awed by these products lemme tell you that these palettes are NOT available in India.. unless Sephora Delhi has started selling them.... I know I know, I am breaking my promise of reviewing Indian products, but I so totally love these products. However, I wouldn't be talking in detail about them... (i don't want you to hate me!)

What I love:

  • i totally love both the palettes anyways!!! ;)
  • the shades have quirky names.. hehehehe like naked, virgin, side car, snake bite etc etc........
  • the brushes with the products are good!! (read excellent)
  • the first palette includes the much talked about eye primer (which is great!)
  • the shades are just beautiful
  • the packaging is chic!
  • it has light, medium and dark shades so you don't require any other palette. it has something for everyone.
  • You can create many looks with the same palette.
What I don't like:
  • its non availability in India (and high Dollar exchange rate)
  • i could do without the repetition of the shades
What I use it for:
  • A soft and a dramatic smokey look.
  • A day look
The non availability in India is the biggest drawback of this palette!!!!!!!
However, the Naked 3 palette I believe has an undertone of pink which makes me more desirable for me!!!! and the shades are not repeated (Thank God!)

Inglot Products Review #inglot #productreview

One of my most “favouritest” brand (apart from MAC) is Inglot.

For the ones who aren’t familiar with Inglot here’s a little bit about the brand -
Inglot is a Polish brand which is 25+ years old and have more than 400 retail stores worldwide. It was created keeping in mind high quality products at reasonable prices. Inglot too follows the black and white color scheme for their branding. Inglot has entered the Indian market under Major Brands which is one of the leading franchisee for premier international brands like Mango, Aldo, Nine West, Charles & Keith etc.

What baffles me is that being such an excellent brand and present in the market for so long it’s yet to gain popularity. I have tried most of the products that Inglot has to offer and I can vouch by them!

Being a makeup artist myself I can say that the quality of the Inglot products is one of the best and the range they offer is pretty wide. Inglot has eye shadows, lip colors and nail paints in every possible shade of every color and in all the textures.

The “Freedom System” offers you the freedom to be able to customize your palettes i.e. eyes, lips and face, and trust me you would be spoilt for choice! Now, you wouldn’t want to get into a impulsive spree and fill your palette all at one go.. so you can either buy a smaller palette like a 2 or 4 squad or if you are craving for more which I am sure you would once you enter the store is buy a bigger palette like a 20 or 40 squad and keep filling them eventually. This will not only help you to buy a wide array of shades but also choose wisely and only those you require! Plus who doesn’t like indulging frequently?! ;)

Inglot offers a very interesting range of products. The first would be the “Rainbow” shade which has 3 shades of the same color in one refill! The second would be the amazing 3D gloss lip gloss! Ya I know that 3D or HD cosmetics is not a new concept but you have to try these lip gloss to know what I am talking about. It’s like different colors rolled into 1!!!

EYES: Some of the products that I totally love are definitely the eye shadows they are beautiful shades, highly pigmented and stay intact till EOD.

rainbow eye shadows

gel eye liners
Another product which I can’t get enough of and I swear by it is the gel eye liner. They are available in 19 shades!!! (pls don’t blame me if you aren’t able to choose which color you would want) They are priced Rs. 850/- for a pot of 5.5g. You would find a worth of every penny paid as these are so totally waterproof that you would have to literally scrape them off while removing your makeup and you precisely need just 1 stroke if you using it for your lower water line!  If you wanna make crying look glam you know which product to choose. The only thing missing is the application brush, but on second thoughts its fine cause the quality just compensates for it!

LIPS: The lipsticks and lip glosses are again highly pigmented, the colors are bright and vibrant. My pick for you would  be the duo paint out which has a shimmer and a matte texture of the same shade!

VLC Sleek lip gloss

Some other products that I have used are the nail paints, which are high in sheen and have a lot of products. The primer is also great it feels like "nothing" on your skin.

nail polish

I am yet to try the foundation of Inglot but I am sure that they too would be great!

PACKAGING: The customized palettes have a nice packaging. They have a magnetic case which can just slide open, great even for travelling. The quads are available in square and round. Single pots are also available. You can customize your palettes for eyes, face and lips.

PRICING:  I know what you must be thinking- “yeah Inglot sounds great but then let’s get to the matter of truth- the Pricing?” Well, remember what I said initially it was created keeping in mind high quality products are reasonable prices and that is exactly what they offer. Their products are of great quality, I mean I use it all the time on my clients and they are fabulously priced! If I have to compare it with a brand to give you a fair idea of the pricing it would be close to L’oreal Paris! I mean it’s a dream come true for every makeup crazy girl out there!!!!! You want to invest in a product which gives you a professional quality yet at a great price, well ladies you know where you would get that!!!

The stores are located everywhere, just walk into any one of them to be mesmerized!!!

You can check  out their website to view their entire collection. Inglot Cosmetics

Maybelline Color Tattoo Review #maybelline #eyemakeup #productreview

Hello Ladies,

So today I am gonna review the product line of one of my favorite brand Maybelline.
This brand very cleverly maps itself, which caters to both the girls and the ladies! And it is an affordable brand, apart from being available very easily all over India.

I personally like a lot of products from Maybelline, however I would be reviewing the cream based eye shadows today – Maybelline Color Tattoo eye shadows which have been around for quite some time now. The colors are vibrant, beautiful yet made for everyone and every occasion.

I am personally not a fan of cream based eye shadows, but I quite like these as they easily glide on the lids and are easy to blend with other colors too. They come in small pots and the best part is that they are long lasting and if applied properly it does not crease either. However, I would not suggest these to the girls who have oily skin.

In India, these shadows are available in 8 shades. In other countries the color tattoo eye shadows are available in 2 variations i.e. color tattoo and color tattoo “metal”  all in all 15 shades!!!! Almost twice as much of what is available here. Ugghhhh…. I hate it!!!!!

Out of the 8 shades, of the Indian version, I have 3 shades- Bad to be Bronze, Audacious Asphalt and Fierce and Tangy. I so totally love all the 3 shades and they blend well with some of the other shades that I have.

Bad to be bronze is a dull goldish bronze which blends well with any dark brown or even black on the outer corner.
Audacious Asphalt is a greyish black shade which is great for a soft smokey look and you can increase the intensity for a bold look.
Fierce and Tangy is more of a fun color! It’s a lovely orange color yet not a very bold “out there” kind of a color.  I like to wear it just as a single color.
Pomegranate Punk: I don't have this shade but I quite like it too.. It is a dark burgundy shade, which is apt for Indian skin tones.

All these shades are really nice, wearable on daily basis or just on occasions. It’s great for both day and night. The other shades in the product line are also great, like painted purple and tenacious teal are also bright colours. It has a good mix of fun colors for the ones who like to experiment and other wearable colors. They are great to bring out the eye color and make them pop!

You can check out more details on their website maybelline india

Price: Rs. 350 for each pot.

WHATS IN YOUR KITTY??? Version 1.2

How you doing lovely ladies? So holiday season coming up… there are a lot of parties and events coming up… weddings, Christmas, New years and may be birthdays, or just like that parties!!!

One of the quickest and easiest ways to add that glam to your look is by painting your nails!!! Yes! Today we are gonna talk about nails. The must haves and dos and donts!

Oh and by the way chapped nail paint and "un filed" nails, you don't wanna be a talk of the town for the wrong reasons!

TEXTURES:
There are probably more textures in nail paints as compared to lipsticks or eye shadows.. but I am again gonna stick to the very basics that we find in the Indian Market.. Plus you don’t wanna confuse yourself with all those details, trust me.
I am gonna talk about just the basics. If you like to know more, leave a comment and I can tell you more about it.

FROSTS AND THE LIKE:  These nail paints usually look very similar to the frost lipsticks that we spoke about in the previous post.
frost finish
FROSTS: A frost is a very fine shimmery polish with obvious brush strokes. Its losing its popularity and usually looks good on ladies who are 45ish years old!
PEARL: is very similar to frost but have a pearl sheen to it.
METALLIC: As the name goes these make your nails look like metal. Mostly found in silver, gold, copper or bronze colours.
FOIL: yes it does give the shine like a crippled foil sheet. It has a metallic base colour and has very fine glitter to it. The finish is smooth yet sparkly!

glitter finish
GLITTER: I think this finish is very popular with the teen and the younger generations, however, we all know this finish very well. I think, all we girls go through the “glitter” phase sooner or later! We love to have glitter on most of things around us.. clothes, shoes, makeup or even books and other stationery items.  Any how these nail paints are usually made on a cream/ jelly finish and has a lot of sparkly glittery stuff in it and it doesn’t have a smooth finish to it.
TIP: you can make these kind of nail polishes at home. Take any colour nail polish including clear nail paint and add some glitter that you have left from the corner where you have kept the extra glitter! Or just add a little glitter eye shadow to it.

jelly finish
CREAME/ JELLY: The most popular and mostly commonly found texture among nail paints. They easily available in all brands and colours. The Jelly finish is super glossy which obviously has more shine to it compared to the cream ones.

MATTE: This finish has not yet come into the Indian market as yet ( if you have come across one do lemme know) It doesn’t have any shine what so ever just like the matte lipsticks. They do look great in dark colours like black, deep green, blue, or oxblood.
matte finish
TIP: you can take your cream finish nail polish apply on your nails, and allow steam on your nails before the nail polish can dry. It would give you the almost matte finish.  And stay away from hand lotions!

MUST HAVE COLOURS:

BRIGHTS: Every girl likes to wear bright happy colours for which ever occasion. These colours immediately oomph up your glam quotient and completes your look.
Colours: Fuscia, Leaf Green, Bold Red, Sunshine Yellow, Orange etc.

DEEP PALETTE: Not many girls would probably be a fan of colours like black, oxblood, etc but these colours look great for those girls who can’t keep their hands off their mouth. So if you have really short nails you should try these deep colours. (others too can use these colours)
Colours: Oxblood, Midnight blue, black etc.
TIP: You remember the last time you removed the oxblood nail varnish and how your nails still had some “Redness” to it even after removing it?? Solution- brush your nails with some whitening tooth paste and clean with soap and water.

NUDES: These are perfect for office wear or any other formal ado. These are sober colours which match most of your outfits. Personally I like these colours in the pearl finish.
Colours: Pearl white, beige, baby pink, light peach, light apricot etc
A must have for every girl whether or not you like painting your nails is a clear or transparent nail polish. Its great to use it as a base coat or a top finish coat or just the clear polish if you really don’t have the time for anything colour.

FRENCH MANICURE: Another must have for a girl of every age is the classic French manicure kit. Be it the pink base or a brown base which ever you like. These look great for every outfit of yours and every occasion. They have a sophisticated look. The only down side is the high maintenance that it requires and often requires a professional hand for the perfect look.

MUST HAVE ACCESSIORIES:
Most us do of course have all the “nail kits” that are available in the market, which includes, the nail cutter, nail filer, nail buffers, cuticle clippers, cuticle pushers etc.
nail kit
Dr. Scholls nail softener

What you would want to add to your grooming kit is the “nail softener”  (Dr. Scholls nail softener are great) for the times when you have an in grown toe nails. This immediately softens the skin and makes it easier to cut. Yes you could also do is soak your feet in warm water for a while, but this is an instant approach.
Also is the nail cleaning brush for…… cleaning (obvio!)  Its available at almost all stores these days.

So that's it for today.... Please tell me your thoughts, reviews, views or just anything you wanna share.

WHATS IN YOUR KITTY - VERSION 1.1

Hello Beautiful Ladies!!!!!!!!!!

So have you started building your kitty as yet???
Looking for some more tips? well... today is your lucky day!!!

Since we have covered about lipsticks in the previous post.. The reason i started with lipsticks and not basics is only cause lipsticks is one thing that every girl has in her closet and wears it everyday!!!

So simultaneously, lets discuss about other things that you would require to build your makeup kit. If you have been following me then you would know that I have already spoken previously about the must have brushes.

Today we are talk about other TOOLS that you would require for your kit. However, please remember that the brushes have been mentioned in the previous post are ONLY basics there are many more brushes that are used.

So, what are the other tools needed for crafting your best look? here goes.....

1. WEDGE SPONGES: I am personally not a fan of using these sponges for makeup, but I do use them while doing nail art. They definitely do help in blending your makeup and removing the harsh lines. These are very easily available in all stores. There is a new king of a sponge which is in a shape of an egg, (picture posted below) that seem really good but the only disappointment is that they are not yet available in India. (Maybe just maybe they should be at Sephoras Delhi)

2. POWDER PUFFS: yes! we all have them! They are usually used for applying compact or loose powder and helps in setting the makeup and makes the skin oil free. The other use of these puffs is by "wearing" it on your little finger if you want to keep your hands of your face while applying the makeup.

3. COTTON PADS AND COTTON SWABS: These are used for cleaning your face (even that's equally important) , blending and shaping your makeup. (and you thought that cotton swabs was only to clean your ears! )

4. TWEEZERS: Didn't realise that there was a hair or two on the brow or upper lip well, that God for these tweezers! They are total saviours!!! and it also helps in applying the false lashes and place them properly on the water line.

5.  EYE LASH CURLERS: These are a lot of girls out there who swear by eye lash curlers. So even if you are not a avid user of these curlers it is a must have in your kitty, its and easier way to open the eyes, making them look wider and brighter.

6. SHARPENER: Needless to say why you need this. Please make sure that you need a blade of the right sharpness and size of your lip and eye pencils.

7. SPATULA AND MIXING PALETTE: If you are one of those ladies who like to mix some colors to create your own concoction and creating something new, or you like mixing 2 foundations to create the perfect shade then you would require these tools, else you don't require them.  The spatula also helps in scrapping out the products.

8. BROW AND LASH GROOMER: again not really a must have, but having it in your kitty does no harm. It helps to separate the lashes and "comb" your brow.

Most of the tools mentioned here are mostly in expensive and equally important to have in your makeup kitty. You can find them in your local store or online.

Talk to me.. leave your comments, reviews, views....

happy shopping!!!
